Obituary

Andrea Brown, 65, of Salem passed away on September 8, 2017.

Andrea was born in Chicago, IL to Edwin John and Esther Wallin on January 27, 1952. She attended Biola University and toured with the quartet in 1971 then graduated from Oregon State University in 1976 with a music major. She obtained a Master’s degree in Education and later a Master’s degree in Counseling, both at Western Oregon University. She touched many lives as a teacher, counselor and yoga teacher. She was a gifted pianist and singer. She adored cats, volunteered with Salem Friends of Felines and dedicated much of her life to animal welfare.
Andrea is survived by her husband Allyn Brown, her children Alivia Thompson Cetas and “Daniel” David Thompson, her stepchildren Sara Peelle and Jon Thompson, her sister Deborah Wallin, her brother John Wallin, her mother Esther Wallin, her grandchildren Joaquin and Lucia Cetas. She loved dearly and was loved by many.

In lieu of flowers, a donation would be welcomed at Salem Friends of Felines, 980 Commercial St. SE, Salem, OR 97302.

    My memories are from a huge family reunion in Stinson Beach (sp?) when I was about 8. She was so warm, kind and patient with all of the cousins (I am the oldest). And her beautiful hair, I was in awe of her hair. So sorry this beautiful spirit is no longer here sharing her warmth.
